A free series of online events on the International Women's Day theme 'Break the Bias'. The campaign advocates for an inclusive and diverse world, with gender equality, free from prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination. In the Palavreada Series 2022, we explore how the literary female voice can act in this context. About the seriesThe Palavreada Series 2022 presents the a series of events on the theme “Break the Bias: For a More Inclusive Literature”. We are inviting women representatives of Portuguese-speaking countries' literature to discuss how the issue of inclusion has been presented and brought up for discussion in their work, and whether creative strategies have been developed to insert the theme in their writings.The series brings together the authors’ experiences in the hope of advancing the debate further and encouraging reflection on processes of inclusion and diversity in Lusophone literature.The series is organised by Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Instituto Camões and the Portuguese Language Centre.The events are open to everyone, including students, researchers, writers and the community.The talks will be presented in Portuguese. The final 15-20 minutes will be open to questions in Portuguese or English.How to joinEvents are free and open to all.
