The Taming of the Shrew

About the event

Petruchio hopes to find marital bliss with wealthy Katherina, but first he must purge her of her infamous unfeminine qualities. Meanwhile Bianca is in peril of being married off to the highest bidder; can she find a decent man among her motley collection of disguised suitors?

Presented in the Bard’s words, with an exciting addition by a contemporary national treasure, this timeless comedy showcases what Shakespeare does best: he shines a light on a particular perennial human condition through an entertaining, thought-provoking story.

This play was produced by Necessary Cat Productions, directed by Angela Harkeness Robinson (MA English Language and Literature, '93) and features Fight and Intimacy Direction by Rebecca Mahar (current PhD candidate in European Theatre).

This event is part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It is costed, and tickets are available through the Fringe website.
