While it does not currently subscribe to any international schemes for the assessment of language ability, such as the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the following ‘Can Do’ Statements provide a rough guide to the equivalent competencies that might be expected of Edinburgh students passing this course at the levels given below.
