Together, they will explore Sara's move from comedy and presenting into fiction, as well as her lifelong appreciation of literature. This event will be followed by a signing, with books provided on the night from Lighthouse Books. About the speakers Sara Pascoe Sara Pascoe is a Sunday Times best-selling author, multi-prize-winning comedian, actress and presenter. She has appeared on a wide range of TV comedy programmes, and toured the UK with numerous award-winning comedy shows. In addition to filming her BBC stand up special, LadsLadsLads, she wrote and starred in her own sitcom Out Of Her Mind. In the literary sphere, Sara has published two non-fiction books: Animal: The Autobiography of The Female Body (2017), and Sex Power Money (2020) — linking in to her podcast of the same name. Her first fiction novel, Weirdo, was published by Faber & Faber in 2023, and arrives in paperback in April 2024. Sara is also the co-host of the Weirdos Book Club podcast with friend and writer Cariad Llyod. Michael Pedersen Michael Pedersen is the Writer in Residence at the University of Edinburgh from September 2023 until June 2025. His prose debut 'Boy Friends' was published by Faber & Faber in 2022 to rave reviews and was a Sunday Times Critics Choice. A recipient of the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship, his third poetry collection 'The Cat Prince' was published by Little Brown in 2023—the title poem of which is currently shortlisted for the Forward Prizes for Poetry.
