About the event

Join MSc Creative Writing students from the University of Edinburgh to hear readings from their upcoming literary anthology From Arthur’s Seat at the publication’s official launch event! We’ll also be hearing from Michael Pedersen, the University of Edinburgh's Writer in Residence and author of Boyfriends (Faber & Faber, 2023) and The Cat Prince & Other Poems (Little Brown, 2022).

The ninth volume of From Arthur’s Seat is a diverse collection of writing by emerging talent, writers from around the world brought together in Scotland’s UNESCO City of Literature. The diverse interests and backgrounds of our authors make for an exciting collage of prose, poetry and everything in between.

From the tale of a cursed woman who sees the strongest memories of others to the story of a waitress who discovers Elvis’ peanut allergy, our writers have crafted eclectic visions ranging from the tragic to the humorous.

The MSc Creative Writing student and staff readers featured are:

  • André Hughes
  • Hannah McIntyre
  • Anjali Venugopal
  • Ines Biollay
  • Mălina Todoran
  • Bridget Shea
  • Anne Ward
  • Monica Davis
  • Kai Ray
  • Jesús Nares Jaramillo

Join us to be inspired, moved, and entertained!
