The English Literature Department play for 2009 was ‘City of Glass’. Image Daniel Quinn: a bereaved man who through chance gets an opportunity to replace the emptiness in his life with a detective fiction. His life shows how stories of every scope and size provide a matrix for our identities: how they drive us, create or undo us. His fate shows how identities can be lost if stories are lost, and recovered if the stories are too. ‘City of Glass’ is the first story in Paul Auster’s 1987 novel "The New York Trilogy". The play ran at the Bedlam Theatre from Tuesday 24th February to Saturday 28th February, 2009.
