The SWINC project was founded in 2008, and since then they have held numerous research, public, and network-building events in and around Edinburgh and elsewhere in Scotland. Their main aims are to build connections between researchers working in the field of 19th century Scottish studies and to foster public awareness of the richness and diversity of Scottish culture in the period. For this special seminar, we welcome Dr Richard Barlow (Nanyang Technological University). About the events series Each year, English and Scottish Literature hosts a variety of exciting research events featuring a fantastic range of guest speakers and colleagues. Events are free and everyone is welcome. No registration is needed. Are you interested in a PhD in English Literature? We offer two PhDs: one in English Literature; and one in Creative Writing. Working with colleagues in LLC and across the wider University, we are able to support research which crosses boundaries between disciplines and/or languages.
