In-house publications

The publications produced within Celtic and Scottish Studies allow us to highlight our research and our extensive archival collections.

Tocher has been published by the School of Scottish Studies Archives since 1971. The journal contains songs, stories, music, customs, beliefs, local history, rhymes and riddles transcribed from tapes held in the sound archive.

The purpose of the journal, Scottish Studies since its inception in 1957, has been to present the results of a wide range of research into traditional and contemporary Scottish life.

The Scottish Tradition Series from the School of Scottish Studies Archives contains important recordings of both Gaelic and Scots tradition bearers.
