Outreach & impact

How our research and resources create opportunities nationally and internationally.

Consideration of outreach opportunities and the potential impact of our work are an inherent part of all that we do in Celtic & Scottish Studies.

Our research often involves collecting and preserving knowledge about the stories and traditions of Celtic and Scottish peoples. We have an obligation to ensure that this knowledge can be used by everyone to help them better understand who they are and where they come from. This is increasingly important in today's world where families stretch across continents making it difficult to maintain traditions that have sustained us for centuries.

We want to show you how the valuable resources of the Archives are made available to you, to the nation and to the world.

Hear the songs your grandparents might have sung while they worked and learn why song is an important way we remember our past.

Why is Gaelic important for Scotland and why just translation is not enough.
