Research Review

This form should be completed by colleagues with a research component to their contract, and is submitted to your Departmental Director of Research. It will also be shared with the Research Office. The review is oriented towards your future plans, and ensures you have the opportunity to meet with your Departmental Director or Deputy Director of Research to discuss support and provide further guidance. It will also help the Research Office plan ahead to support staff in the development of their research and preparation of external funding applications.

Following receipt of the form and follow-up meeting as appropriate, Departmental Directors and Deputy Directors of Research will all meet with the School Research Office to discuss any matters arising and support needs.

It does not replace the Annual Review, where you are required to confirm that you have logged completed outputs and impact on Pure.

Research outputs may include ephemeral, creative, collaborative, public-facing or other ‘non-traditional’ outputs as well as those standard in your discipline; impact and knowledge exchange (KE) are defined as research activities that result in measurable non-academic engagement (e.g. exhibitions, film screenings, performances, online interactive activities, etc.); collaborative research activities include activities from which no specific research output is expected (e.g. reading groups, seminar groups, work-in-progress meetings) as well as activities working toward a specific output (e.g. editorial collaborations, workshops, conferences).
