Democratic memory/historical memory

This one-day seminar on democratic memory is convened by José Saval (University of Edinburgh) and Gabriel Sansano (Universitat d’Alacant), drawing on the work of the Història i Poètiques de la Memòria (HISPOME) research group.

It is a space for reflection and joint evaluation; bringing together various lines of interdisciplinary research, and sharing works that are being developed right now, by experts from different research centres and several countries.

The specific period under discussion starts with the implementation of the Law of Press and Printing in 1966 and continues until the Law of Historical Memory in 2007.

Together, the convenors are interested in bringing together methodologies and partial results on the topic of democratic memory, and trying to merge the individual work of each one of the specialists into a much bigger group project.
