English Literature Research Events: Terri Ochiagha Plaza In brief Guest speaker - Dr Terri Ochiagha Plaza (University of Edinburgh) Chair - Professor Paul Crosthwaite (University of Edinburgh) Title - The Lure of Excess: Archival Seduction and Colonial Self-Monumentality About the speaker Dr Terri Ochiagha is a Lecturer in Global Anglophone Literatures at the University of Edinburgh. She is a scholar of colonial and postcolonial Nigerian cultures and societies working in the interstices of literary studies, history, and postcolonial theory. Dr. Ochiagha is particularly interested in colonial archival practices, first-generation Nigerian writing, the history of elite colonial education in Africa, and the complex construction and performance of colonial subjectivities amidst (post)colonial flux. About the events series Each year, English and Scottish Literature hosts a variety of exciting research events featuring a fantastic range of guest speakers and colleagues.
