Cynthia Miller Cynthia Miller is a Malaysian-American poet, festival producer and strategist living in Edinburgh. Her debut collection HONORIFICS won the Laurel Prize for Best First Collection and has been shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Prize and the Forward Prize. It has also been longlisted for the Jhalak Prize. Her poems have appeared in The Rialto, Ambit, the Telegraph and Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal. Tessa Berring Tessa Berring is an Edinburgh based writer/artist. Her first collection ‘Bitten Hair’, was published in 2019 with Blue Diode Press, and was highly recommended in the Forward Prizes. This year, 2022, a pamphlet ‘Putty’, was published with If A Leaf Falls Press, and a second full collection, ‘Folded Purse’, will be published in November (Blue Diode Press). Tessa is also 1/2 of Usual Shoe, an ongoing collaborative project with writer Kathrine Sowerby. She is also a member of the poetry collective ‘12’. About the series Every year, the Writer-in-Residence programmes a series of Author Readings and Conversations with the best and brightest writers around. These free events are open to everyone.
