About the speaker

Professor Shinjini Chattopadhyay's research focuses on Irish, British, and transnational modernisms. Her monograph-in-progress, “Plurabilities of the City,” investigates the construction of metropolitan cosmopolitanism in modernist and contemporary novels.

In addition to the monograph, Professor Chattopadhyay is currently working on editing a volume of essays on Virginia Woolf and Transnationalism for the Virginia Woolf-Variations series published from Edinburgh University Press. Her work has appeared in James Joyce Quarterly, European Joyce Studies, Modernism/Modernity Print+, and various edited collections.

She is also interested in the intersections of modernist studies and blue humanities.
