Celtic and Scottish Studies Seminar Series: Iain Howieson In brief Speaker - Dr Iain Howieson (Independent Scholar) Title - Nineteenth-century Bàrdachd Baile - towards a Re-evaluation About the seminar In some quarters, Bàrdachd Baile has been dismissed as unoriginal and laden with cliché. However, very little detailed analysis has been published to support such opinions. Dr Iain Howieson's thesis offers a consideration of the types of literary criticism which allow a more informed evaluation of the poetry, and of its distinctive contribution to Gaelic culture. All seminars take place fortnightly on Fridays between 13.15 and 14.00. Please contact Dr Neill Martin to receive a Zoom invitation and password. We extend a warm welcome to all with an interest in the topics presented and look forward to seeing you. NB The Zoom invitation will indicate a 13.00 start but the seminar will commence at 13.15.
