Celtic and Scottish Studies Seminar Series: Colin McPherson

In brief

Speaker - Colin McPherson

Title - Catching the Tide - documenting Scotland's last salmon net fishermen through photography

About the speaker

Edinburgh-born Colin McPherson is a photographer, filmmaker and writer, and member of the Documenting Scotland Collective.

He specialises in long-term projects and began "Catching the Tide" in 1996, which has since been extensively published, exhibited and broadcast. Although the remaining fisheries closed in 2018, he is continuing his work on the subject through collaboration with individuals, organisations and institutions to preserve the legacy of this important industry.
