Celtic and Scottish Studies Seminar Series: Donald Smith In brief Speaker - Dr Donald Smith Title - The Powers and Perils of Traditions About the seminar 2022 is Scotland's Year of Stories - all very official. But what does that mean for Scotland's older storytelling traditions? And what is happening to their putative 'revival'? As a writer, researcher and storyteller, Donald has been in the thick of the narrative action, founding the Scottish Storytelling Centre and directing the Scottish International Storytelling Festival in the autumn. He is also currently Chief Executive of TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland) which brings together Scotland's traditional arts. In this seminar, he takes a reflective, but not po-faced, look at Scotland's storytelling culture, past and present. How to register All seminars take place fortnightly on Fridays between 13.15 and 14.00. Please contact Dr Neill Martin to receive a Zoom invitation and password.
