Title - Collecting Creativity, New Traditions, and Music-Making in Scotland

About the event

Dr Watson will introduce the research and archive-making project, The New Traditional School in Scotland, which she has been leading as an Arts and Humanities Research Council Fellow.  This has explored how in recent times the conventions of tradition have been and are being negotiated by musicians when creating innovative work. She will share some of the considerations involved in developing a new collection of this kind.

About the speaker

Dr Watson combines experience as a researcher and lecturer with musical performance gifts of a very high order and is a widely acclaimed fiddle player, vocalist and composer.

Joining a seminar is free, and everyone is welcome. No booking is required.
