About the event

Drawing on his recently published book, Dr Coinneach Maclean illustrates the value of access to Gaelic sources (including histories, narratives, poetry, song, place-names and lived experience) for an understanding of the landscape and people of the Highlands and Islands, an area long a focus of tourism but often misunderstood.

About the speaker

A Gaelic speaker fom the Island of South Uist, Dr Maclean trained as an archaeologist and has had a varied career including deer farming, rural development, housing, and the heritage industry.

How to attend

Joining a seminar is free, and everyone is welcome. No booking is required.

All seminars take place online fortnightly on Fridays from 13.00 to 14.00. Please contact Dr Neill Martin to be added to the mailing list for an invitation, link and passcode.
