All staff in LLC must complete the following mandatory training on Information Security and Data Protection (including UK GDPR).

All staff and research students in LLC who conduct or supervise research must complete the following mandatory training on research ethics and GDPR.

All undergraduate and postgraduate students in LLC who conduct research must complete mandatory training on research ethics.

All undergraduate and postgraduate students are also encouraged to review the Information Security Essentials (suite of short videos): Information Security Essentials (Visitors) - Media Hopper Create.

Please note that Data Protection Training for Research is no longer available to UG and PGT students.

If you experience difficulties with self-enrolling on the ethics or Data Protection training, please contact the providers (Learn Support, IAD or IS Helpline).


The Institute for Academic Development (IAD) offers training on a wide range of research-related skills, including on research ethics and data management. Of particular use to postgraduate research students is the PGR Research Integrity and Ethics Workshop.
