About the event

If you're not an Arabic speaker, you might be surprised to know that you use Arabic words every day! For example: alcohol, average, camera, candy, coffee, guitar, magazine, mattress, sofa, sugar, zero, and many more.

This workshop is designed to be hands-on, engaging, and inspiring. It will help attendees discover for themselves the cultural, historical, and linguistic insights behind commonly-used English words of Arabic origins. It aims to show how, to some extent, we all use Arabic in our daily lives.
