Hate has no home here

Although immigation and emmigration have been part of the Scottish experience for centuries, sadly prejudice against minority communities remains a challenge for us all.

Scotland's Muslim community is now very well-established with a truly Scottish Islam now an integral thread in the tartan of Scottish society. Despite of this, Scottish Muslims are still subject to a worrying level of anti-Muslim prejudice and hate crime which can have a hugely destructive impact on individuals and communities.

As a response, the Alwaleed Centre partenrerd with the creative team at Media Coop to produce three short animations exploring the personal impact of anti-Muslim prejudice and hate crime in Scotland.

The animations below are based on interviews with Scottish Muslims living in Edinburgh and Glasgow undertaken by researchers at the Alwaleed Centre. The interviews were recorded by students at the University of Edinburgh's Reid School of Music.
