An innovative books series published by EUP in partnership with the Alwaleed Centre exploring the contemporary dynamics of globalised societies where Islamic worldviews shape social and political change.

This innovative series investigates the dynamics of Muslim societies in a globalised world. It considers the boundaries of the contemporary Muslim world, their construction, their artificiality or durability. It sheds new light on what it means to be part of the Muslim world today, for both those individuals and communities who live in Muslim-majority countries and those who reside outside and are part of a globalised ummah. Its analysis encompasses the micro and the macro level, exploring the discourses and practices of individuals, communities, states and transnational actors who create these dynamics. It offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the salient contemporary issues and interactions that shape the internal and external relations of the Muslim world.

Write for the Globalised Muslim World

We welcome proposals that rethink the relationship between Islamic and global processes of societal change, and productively challenge conventional boundaries for analysing Muslim-majority countries and Muslim-minority communities. The series publishes books without restriction to regions or disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, in so far as the works address issues pertinent to the contemporary Muslim world broadly defined.
