Dr Sara Ababneh

Dr Sara Ababneh is a Visiting Fellow at the Alwaleed Centre and a lecturer in International Relations at the University of Sheffield.

Dr Sara Ababneh is lecturer in International Relations at the University of Sheffield, where she teaches modules on Middle East Politics, Gendered Politics in the Arab World and Race and Racism in International Relations. Prior to this she was Associate Professor at the University of Jordan’s Center for Strategic Studies, where she also headed the Political and Social Research Unit. Sara Ababneh serves on the Advisory Board of the DAVO (The German Middle East Studies Association), the Steering Committee of the American Political Science Association MENA, and the Musawah Advisory Board.

 Dr. Ababneh has conducted research on Mandate Palestine, gender and Islamism, Muslim family laws, and labour movements. Her research interests include class, gender, resistance, struggles for liberation, social justice, and economic sovereignty.
