Les Europeens regardent les Europeens poster

Les Européens regardent les Européensis a collection of one hundred of comic strips depicting how Europeans perceive Europeans from other countries. How do we perceive the other within the European Union? How do we perceive ourselves culturally? Is there an uneasy relationship between humour and stereotype? Does humour have limits? Comic strip artists from Belgium, Holland, France, and Denmark, amongst others, lift the pen to draw impressions of their fellow Europeans.

This multilingual exhibition was first launched at the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée/Comics Art Museum in Brussels in 2007 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Rome Treaty which established the legal foundations of the European Union.
