'Dimanche' is a stunning visual performance combining puppetry, video, mime and clowning. The creators of this event are Focus Company and Chaliwaté Company, two award-winning Belgian mime and puppetry companies. Between dreamlike fiction and stark reality, 'Dimanche' paints a witty and tender portrait of humanity surprised by the uncontrollable forces of nature. How to attend This event is part of the Edinburgh International Festival. It is costed, and tickets are available through the EIF website. A touch tour for this production is available before the 7pm performance on 18 August. Book your ticket on the EIF website About the Centre de recherches francophones belges Established in 1995, the Centre promotes the teaching of francophone Belgian literature on university courses, and hosts a range of activities relating to the field of francophone Belgian studies. These include seminars, conferences, publications, writing competitions, film screenings and other cultural events. We frequently partner with Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI), including to bring Belgian performances to the UK as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Our interdisciplinary environment brings together specialists in nine European languages, and the many cultures worldwide in which they're spoken, with experts in film, literature, theatre, translation and intermediality.
