Throughout the day, there will be Japanese cultural artifacts on display, such as Boro stitching and Kimono. 2pm to 3pm: Japanese tea ceremony (Sadō/Chadō) demonstration Whether you are interested in Japanese Tea Ceremony (known as sadō or chadō), love all things matcha and want to learn more about it, or are just interested in Japanese culture generally, this rare opportunity to witness a tea ceremony demonstration is not to be missed. In this two-hour session by teacher and master of Japanese Tea Ceremonies, Mio Shudo, you will not only get to witness a Tea Ceremony, but you will also get to try the matcha tea and some traditional confectionary that goes with it. There will also be an accompaniment of shamisen music. With meaning and appreciation woven into each part of the ceremony, this is certainly no ordinary cuppa! 4pm to 6pm: Japanese performer's Reception & Showcase event Every year, amazing performers and artists from Japan make the journey to be a part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and show off their wonderful talents. This year, you have the chance to catch performances by seven different Japanese acts all in the same room.
