About the event

After their professor, Tim Kenneth, suffers a mental breakdown in class, obnoxious prankster Scooter and teacher's pet Pencil embark on an odyssey through New Jersey, saddled by the weight of their own existence and with complicated feelings towards their lecturer. This isn't a typical college comedy but an introspective look at masculinity and queerness in academia.

The show contains many references to other media, including video games (Dance-dance revolution, call of duty and Metroid). Literature- Ernest Hemingway is an essential plot point- and philosophy! There are intermedial moments throughout, such as staging the properties of a Youtube video and using the ideas of film editing.

Following a sold-out run at 59E59 Theatres and a debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, Tim Kenneth Kicks the Bucket went on tour in Harrisburg and Brooklyn and is finally bringing the show back to the Fringe, playing at Surgeons' Hall for two weeks. The production is written and directed by Brandon Kiziloz (Intermediality MSc).
